We just received another update and plea for prayer from our field team in South Asia. The operation that began last night (see earlier blog post) is at a stalemate but absolutely must move forward. Our staff team and the six families who have been in slavery are all at the govenment facility right now and will be there for the rest of the night. Here is how we need for you to pray. And please do leave comments of prayer and scripture to encourage our staff as they persevere through this long night:
The authorities have listened to one of the victim’s testimonies so far. This victim shared of the years of forced labor and the horrible treatment that they had faced at the hands of the owner. The official was visibly moved by the recounting of the story, but there has not been any action yet and we are concerned no action will be taken.
Please pray for:
• Safety of IJM staff & the victims as they spend the night in the gov’t office.
• The government officials, that they would make the right decisions.
• Refreshment for the victims, as they are tired and worn out.
• IJM staff, that they would remain bold and strong.
• The victims to be granted release certificates tomorrow morning.
In the director of this field office’s own words,
“We have a long fight on our hands and we are ready for it.”

Be strong. God hears the cry of the oppressed.
Praying that justice will prevail, that the Lord would be present as the victims and IJM staff are interviewed and that the government officials would have the courage to do what is right. Praying also that the Lord would grant His peace and healing in the lives and hearts of the victims.

Lord come and move in power. May your Spirit sweep through the hearts and minds of the victims and staff as they persevere in this fight. May you change the hearts of the officials as only you can, and Lord in your mercy may you rain down justice from the heavens with a flood of your unfailing love.

Lord, please cover your people with peace as they are in the midst of this trial. Soften the hearts of these government officials and allow these victims of slavery to find freedom in You. Joshua 1:9 says “Be strong and courageous, Do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord Your God is with you wherever you go.” You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.
Am praying and will continue to pray. The Lord is mighty to save. The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and are saved.
Bless you as you remain present with Christ through this night of pain & longing. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. May it be so.
Lord you are a powerful God who wants justice for all who are oppressed. I pray that you would move in the hearts of these men. Let them see the injustice that has been done and have the desire to free these slaves. Protect all who are involved in this physically and spiritually. If you’re visual, as I am, you may need what Ezekiel received: Ezekiel 1:1 “...while I was among the exiles by the Kebar River, the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God.” While in the midst of this real trouble, He is with you, and He is mighty to save! Thank you for standing with these victims. We all stand with you in prayer, as you wait for God with these sweet people of God. You are not alone!! Thank you, thank you for being there with them.
May you strongly sense the Lord’s presence alongside you as you work to achieve justice in the lives of these people, each of whom is personally known and beloved by God. I pray that each of you would sense the peace of Christ in your hearts and that your Christian love would send a powerful message to the officials involved in this case. I have so much to learn about prayer. I don’t understand how it works or why we must pray for things which are already God’s desire. But I will still pray for you, that God will give you the courage, strength, and boldness for you to carry out the justice and freedom that God desires for us all.

Stand strong, you are all heros. We are praying for God to send you strength, wisdom, and the right words at the right time.

I pray that at some point through this night you will be touched by God in an undeniable way. That there will be no doubt in your mind that Jesus is with you, pleased with your work, and interceding on your behalf. We have just now prayed to Jehovah / Yahweh - our father in heaven - in the name of Christ Jesus that the slaves you are trying to save will be released. We know that the hand of God has done this before - for example we know of the account in the Bible of a disciple freed from prison by the hand of God. We have also prayed - in belief and faith with nothing wavering - that God will protect all of you.
Father, I pray that you bring your perfect peace to those waiting for justice through this night. Please let them be assured that you’re right there with them, comforting them. I pray you bring justice and mercy for all those involved in this case. I got the prayer email and am praying - be encouraged that our God is greater than any human evil. As he says in Jeremiah, “I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” The answer is NO! We persevere in prayer for you.

His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary and to him who lacks might He increases power.

I am praying for you all during this difficult time. Isaiah 49:8,9 “This is what the Lord says: In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and make you to be a covenant for the people to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances, to say to the captives,"Come out,” and to those in darkness, “Be free!” May God strengthen you and use you mightily to free His chlidren. I just prayed for the slavery victims and staff being detained. God, please deliver them and protect them!
“ 31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
My mind immediately went to this passage as I was praying here. Admittedly, the context may not be entirely applicable, but what really speaks to me here is this: If God the Father did not spare His own Son… Think about that for a minute. The Lord of the universe was presented as a sacrifice. The most precious, most awesome, most wonderful life in existence was the sacrifice which absorbed the full wages of sin for those who have faith in Him. If God the Father would do that for us, would he not move and set free these captives?
praying for God’s power to be displayed in the freeing of these people who are precious to Him. may the team and victims be sustained through the night and hold steadfast in the hope of the Lord.
Continuing to pray now and throughout the night. Trusting God to work miracles. Praying He fills you all with peace, strength and hope.

Lord we thank you that you are with your people, who You have called to free the captives. God in our cries and in the grief of our heart, we Trust You, and we ask that by your Spirit, You will work for the justice. God please allow your love to flow out and empower the team to have such confidence in your strength. Comfort them. Do not let them be afraid. Bring forth faithfulness. Lord we know it is only through You that the government official’s hearts can be softened. God please work your miracles tonight God. Let all see how gracious is our God and how Mighty You are to rescue from all depths. Lord please set these victims free so they can taste the goodness of the Lord. Even now, as they wait, I pray their hearts can be lifted to you as Savior. Lord call upon their lives and be so glorified! Your will be done, our King.
Holy Spirit of the living God, be present and active with these IJM South Asia staff, the victims they are with, and the government officials there. Give your servants knowledge of your presence, power, and love; give them absolute trust and hope in you; attune them to the way that you are working there right now. Give them, if necessary, words to convict and move the hearts of the officials. Give comfort and rest to the victims. In Jesus name, bring freedom to these captives.
I pray God will strengthen and encourage you all, and that He bring freedom and justice. Thank you for what you are doing. You, as members of his body, are God incarnate to those around you. I pray for His favor in this.

We serve a great and mighty God who hears the cry of His people. You are His vessels this night that He is using in a MIGHTY WAY to free those enslaved and bound. I pray that when morning comes those bound will hear the words, “You are free!” Trust that God is STILL ON THE THRONE and is in complete control. Praying for you this night. We stand on the wall with you, watching and waiting, expecting God’s Hand to move the hearts of those who can truly make the difference in freeing these people.

Praying for you all and the work you are doing.
Praying for you IJM at this very moment. 2 Tim 1:7 “I do not give you a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind.” Praying for God’s hand to orchestrate all of the details. You are loved and appreciated.
I’m praying for you. Do not dismay. Do not let your faith falter. There is no limit to God’s power. Your effort in the name of justice and love for fellow men is enabling God’s mighty power. God, our Lord, will rescue the oppressed.
My prayer for you comes from Zechariah 9:11-17. I pray for strength, hope and safety for you and the victims and for justice to be reached with courageous, honest and moral decisions by the judges. I’m grateful for all you are doing - you are my heros!

It’s an honor to get to stand with you and pray for release tonight. I pray for the influence of Esther for the official who has been touched by the victims’ stories. I pray for the boldness and calm strength of David for you as staff. Be strong and courageous. You are living out the life of Jesus right now. What an honor!
I am praying that God will open the eyes of the officials as you bring the plight of these slaves before them. A verse that I was shared with me as I faced unfair legal proceedings is Isaiah 54:17:
No weapon forged against you will prevail,
and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
and this is their vindication from me,”
declares the LORD.
Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

Our God is mighty to deliver! We pray for the Lord to grant you His peace tonight, that the IJM team and each of the former slaves would be able to cast their cares upon Him and enter into His rest.
2 Chronicles 20:12: “O our God will You not exercise judgment upon them? for we have no might to stand against this great company that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” Verses 15 and 17 go on to say “...Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s...” “You shall not need to fight in this battle; take your positions, stand still, and see the deliverance of the Lord...”
The IJM south Asia team have taken their positions to stand with the former slaves until freedom is granted by the officials. We pray for rest and peace for the team and 6 families this night as they abide in Jesus, entering the rest of God, waiting on the Lord with their eyes focused upon Him, not moving in the flesh, but doing what the Lord directs.
I pray the Lord will give you wisdom and His peace tonight...Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you...” We pray for His supernatural peace to envelope you tonight. May you feel His loving arms wrapped around you and we pray you all sleep peacefully.

Praying for you tonight. I’m always moved when I hear how much you all sacrifice to fight for justice. God loves the victims more than any of us ever will be able to.

I’ll keep praying for the victims, staff and government officials for God to free these people.
And thank you, IJM, for staying in the fight. It’s so encouraging knowing that there are believers hard at God’s work. Usually, these stories are so frustrating because noone cares or does anything about the people in such peril.

I am praying for right now .. that the Lord will put His loving arms around you and give you his strength and peace. You do not fight against flesh and blood but against unseen forces. We know who is stronger than those!
I am praying to he “who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” that he will watch over you, free the victims, let his love and mercy show to them and give courage to the officials involved to stand up for what is right.

We prayed for you last night and continue to lift you up. I pray peace and boldness and for the enemys hand to be lifted and for Freedom to Reign. I pray for the power of God to penetrate into this situation and the leaders hearts to be moved by the testimony and that swift action would be taken to free these families. I pray that God would be glorified and that the freedom would lead to the families coming to know the Lord and his love for them. Father, please move right now and do not allow Satan to keep his hands on these precious children of yours. Who the son sets free is free indeed, please set them free in every way. Strengthen the IJM team and thank you God for them who are willing to stand right beside your children and speak up for them.
Whenever the LORD raised up a judge for them, he was with the judge and saved them out of the hands of their enemies as long as the judge lived; for the LORD had compassion on them as they groaned under those who oppressed and afflicted them. -Judges 2:18
Know that I am praying for God to bring deliverance in a powerful way. He is able.

May you feel the protection and loving hand of God through the next steps in this rescue. We are lifting you, the victims and the officials to our mighty and wonderful Saviour that he will break this stalemate and continue the process of justice for these victims.

The LORD our God is with you, He is MIGHTY TO SAVE! Praying that His power would reign over, around and down upon you, those you serve and the officials at hand. We love you and your heart for those whom you serve!!

LORD, may our prayers be like the Israelites marching around Jericho. We trust you to bring down the walls of evil that hold your children captive and for your mighty angels to rush in and rescue them. Just as you gave Israel Jericho, LORD we ask for this government facility and every official and slave owner, so that those who are being held captive may be free!
The Lord blesses and protects those who labor in His name. May His strength, wisdom and grace be with the IJM staff and his protection with those held captive.
asking God to make your wilderness a pool of water and the dry land springs of water TODAY. He will answer and not forsake you. He promises this in His Word.

LORD is closer than your very breath and by His character, He is making things right at this very instant.
“This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow march down against them.... You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.’ “ - 2 Chronicles 20: 15-17.
Lord, you are stronger than this vast army. You are STRONGER. Show yourself mighty. Bring peace to the IJM workers and victims; bring confussion to their enemies. Open a door when it seems like all else has failed. Be the God of the Old Testement who works miracles and wonders. Thank you for providing safety so far in this dangerous situation. Continue to provide, continue to show yourself faithful, continue to not give up on them. Thank you Lord. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.
