On-going Prayer for a Widow in Uganda

uganda_map
We just received word of a very difficult case that has opened in Uganda.  Below is the information we have thus far from the field - and in addition, we suspect this case may be drawn-out over many months, so please do keep Veronica in continued prayer over the weeks to come (and pray that resolution may come quickly):

“Please pray for one of our new clients, a Ugandan widow named Veronica. Her home and property have been forcibly taken by an extended family member. The perpetrator is known for violent land disputes in the community and he has asserted himself over Veronica’s home to the point where she is fearful of even gardening on the land. Pray that the Ugandan authorities will acknowledge the criminal nature of the perpetrator’s actions and hold him accountable.  Pray also that IJM’s efforts to find a solution through family mediations will bear fruit.”

Psalm 140:12 - I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and justice for the poor.
Father, we trust that you will intervene on behalf of Veronica and restrain those who breathe violence and inflict fear on the innocent.  Bring conviction, repentance and healing to this family.
